10:00am. The caller ID says: “Good Sam.” I know that is short for “Good Samaritan Hospital” and upon picking up I hear Dr. Summer’s voice. “She did great. She’s out of surgery and will be heading into recovery in ten or fifteen minutes.”

A sigh of relief from me.

Now we wait some more; probably about two hours before she is moved to a room in the hospital.

I’m not bored. Steve, the loud taker, is on his phone visiting with someone about painting a transom. “You’ll never notice the cracks,” he says.
