Prelude to "QEIII"

Are you old enough to remember the television program, "Queen For A Day?" Probably not. It ended a nine-year ran on both NBC and ABC from 1956 to 1964. The premise was to make a "Queen for a Day" out of the contestant who described hers as the most miserable life. She won by gaining a higher applause rating from a studio audience. It was, and I remember this reasonably well, pitiful. My goal is to make B4 "Queen for Two Weeks."

B4 and I are sailing aboard the Queen for two weeks. In our case, ours are most wonderful lives as we embark on a two-week voyage aboard Cunard's very proper and very British Queen Elizabeth II upon the beautiful Mediterranean. We do all this as tourists who intend to behave more respectfully than those about whom we have read during the past few months.

We won't be like the two drunk Americans who slept off their drinking binge in a closed section of the Eiffel Tower. We won't be like the French woman who carved her initials into the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We promise to not do as did the Brit who etched his and his date's name into the ancient walls of the Colosseum of Rome. Nor will be be like the Canadian who defaced a 1,200-year-old temple in Japan or the German man who stripped naked during a performance at a sacred Bali temple--after having skipped out on "several hotel bills." Nope. We will behave and you can confirm that we lived up to that promise if you follow along with us during the next several days.
