Come Along with Us

What’s it like aboard a “Crossing” (sailing across the Atlantic Ocean) and what advice do we have for you? Sail westbound.

When heading to Antarctica, should you sail across the Drake Passage or fly over it? Fly.

What happens when British Airways sends your bag to Bangalore when you’re flying to Houston—and what should you do about it? Social media is the only way to get them to listen to you.

What’s the biggest difference between going to Africa to see gorillas and going to Africa to see the “Big Five?” You’d better be in great physical shape if you’re out to commune with gorillas.

It’s all here. We travel for fun; if you don’t want to laugh a bit, don’t read our blogs.

Meet The Travelers

Beryl worked for Warren Buffet and is the retired chairman and CEO of Helzberg Diamonds.

Paul is the retired entrepreneur and founder of ej4.com. Meeting later in life, both had been previously married, divorced or widowed but were not yet through withtheir adventurous lives.

For her job as a Macy’s buyer, Beryl went to China in the 1970s—well before most people made that trip. Around that same time, Paul was traveling the U.S. delivering seminars stopping in 49 states in one calendar year. Both benefited greatly from the establishment of frequent flyer programs (thanks Bob Crandall at American Airlines).

Paul has visited 133 countries or territories and many of those adventures are documented in day-by-day chronicles here. After these two became a couple, Beryl began adding her comments.

Does Beryl go with Paul on all his trips? She says, “If there is a five-star hotel and a spa I’m in. If not, I’m not.”

Where To Next?

Our next trip is aboard the brand new cruise ship Norwegian Aqua to see if the hype about “The Haven” is true.

Some People Covet “Things.”

But I Agree with Comedian Steven Wright Who Said, “You Can’t Have Everything. Where Would You Put It?”

For Me, Susan Sontag Nailed It When She Wrote, “I Haven’t Been Everywhere But It’s On My List.”
